STRATA CHANDELIER

The Autumn Light Chandelier, a free-blown glass sculpture crafted by JMW Studio in Paris, comprises multiple pendants suspended at varied heights to create an ethereal display. The curvaceous silhouette is created by physically shaping the glass with cork pads while being blown. And the softly striped waves on its surface, similar to those on the Winter Light, were created by weaving glass in the filigree technique, using colors meant to evoke the warmer light of the transitional season. “We’re dancing with that tension and trying, as a craftsman, to sublime it, to give that tension a shape before it cools,” says founder Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert. No two of the resulting sculptures are ever alike.
